Taking on the task of restoring a historic monument is something for people with a great deal of optimism, drive, and vision. Sometimes it seems to be an advantage not to know exactly what you're getting yourself into beforehand.

Kerstin and Holger from Fischerhude, an idyllic artists' village near Bremen, have similar experiences. They discovered an old watermill in a deep sleep and, without any prior experience, purchased and completely renovated it.
