GARDEN DESIGN

Surrounding ourselves with nature is good for our soul and our body. In the forest, with the scent of pine needles in our noses and the soft, springy forest floor beneath our feet. Or when gazing into the distance, over green meadows and wildflowers along the path, surrounded by insects buzzing and fluttering.

Yet we still bring nature into our everyday lives far too rarely. Especially in small gardens, paved outdoor areas, such as those of commercial buildings, or front yards, the potential for creating a natural and green oasis often goes unrecognized.

Every room is filled with nature

  • A place of regeneration and well-being. To relax, unwind, and breathe deeply.

  • a place for community, to have another space where people can meet and interact

  • an upgrade of the building – both aesthetically and in terms of the quality of stay (in a business context also for customers and employees)

  • added value for nature through the creation of habitat, unsealing of surfaces and the creation of infiltration areas during heavy rainfall as well as protection from heat through the cooling effect of plants

Maike Kristina Harich’s garden design consultation includes three steps:

  1. Show opportunities: Analyze the current atmosphere and demonstrate the potential of the outdoor spaces.

  2. Creating aesthetics: Developing design concepts, mood boards, material and color suggestions, and planting plans to achieve a soothing, stylish, and harmonious overall atmosphere. These serve as a guiding thread for subsequent implementation by specialist companies or independently.

  3. Providing support: Assisting with implementation. Acting as a consultant alongside owners or clients. When design decisions are pending and a clear outside perspective is helpful.

Company gardens & commercial outdoor areas

Commercial outdoor spaces contain a surprising amount of unused space that could be transformed into beautiful, green spaces with a high level of amenity. A dreary courtyard can be transformed into a green oasis where employees can spend their lunch breaks, patients can wait, or customer events can be held. A gray gravel front yard can be transformed into a blooming, fragrant spot with a bench that delights every time you look at the building, or the paved area between the parking lot and the entrance can be transformed into low-maintenance perennial beds that significantly enhance your building and make every visitor feel inviting. Maike Kristina Harich will show you the design options available for your outdoor spaces during a personalized design consultation. These include front gardens, patios, courtyards, balconies, parking areas, and entrances and driveways. She will develop a personalized design concept for you, which you can then implement yourself or with a garden and landscaping company. The effect includes, among other things, - that a visit to your premises is a positive experience from the very first glance and is fondly remembered by your customers and visitors. - that the quality of your outdoor space is automatically projected onto the quality in other areas of your company. - that it becomes clear how important a pleasant working environment is to you – also in terms of caring for your team. - that the unsealing of surfaces and insect-friendliness are important to you. - that you become a pioneer in the greening of commercial outdoor spaces and can go outside and inspire others with your commitment. Maike also offers accompanying advice on design decisions during the implementation phase. For example, regarding structural measures or material selection.

private gardens & outdoor areas

Having a green retreat where your gaze can wander, even when you're indoors, looking out the window, is a blessing. Maike Kristina Harich will show you, through her design consultation and her designs, what's possible in your garden or outdoor space (patio, balcony, front yard, or courtyard) – regardless of size. You'll receive a design guide that you can use to either create your garden yourself or engage a gardening and landscaping specialist to implement your plan for you. Maike prefers low-maintenance perennials, grasses, and native trees, and places great emphasis on insect-friendliness and the use of natural materials for structural elements. Design consultations are available both on-site and online (see below). Maike Kristina Harich also offers support with design decisions during the implementation phase, for example, regarding structural measures or material selection.

Transition from outdoor to indoor spaces

A building always includes three areas: exterior spaces, interior spaces, and the architecture of the house itself. When all three work together, a stylish overall appearance and a harmonious atmosphere emerge. Maike Kristina Harich, with her experience as both a garden and interior designer, has an eye for these synergies and demonstrates in her consultations how a building can open itself more to nature and how natural materials inside can immensely enhance well-being and the quality of stay. Whether through a redesign of the facade, a different interior room layout to create better views of the greenery, or through greater clarity and order, good light sources, and the use of natural materials such as wood floorboards or ecologically sound wall paints. We also offer consulting services for design decisions during the implementation phase, for example, regarding structural measures or material selection.

Styling & Events

Whether it's the entrance area of a doctor's office, a restaurant terrace, a trade show booth, a photo shoot, or a special event: Maike Kristina Harich uses nature and natural materials to create a design concept for a unique, stylish, warm, and inviting atmosphere and, if desired, supports its implementation.

Garden conversation

Would you like an assessment of the potential that lies dormant in your garden or outdoor spaces? So you can then decide what you want to implement? Perhaps on your own, perhaps with specialist companies?

The Garden Consultation is an exclusive yet relaxed introduction to garden design. Maike Kristina Harich will examine your garden and your wishes and, during the consultation, show you what is possible.

We'll send you a questionnaire in advance, which you can return to us along with photos/videos and a floor plan for preparation before we schedule a garden consultation at your location, or by phone/video. You'll then receive a summary of the ideas and can decide for yourself whether these are enough inspiration for you to implement them, or whether you'd like more detailed planning.

Cost: 490 EUR plus 19% VAT. Includes evaluation of your completed questionnaire, the garden discussion with Maike Kristina Harich (approx. 60 minutes), and a written summary of the design ideas as a PDF.

Detailed planning, such as differentiated design concepts with floor plans, planting plans or mood boards as well as accompanying advice during implementation can be booked subsequently if required.

All prices are subject to 19% VAT.

Travel expenses are included for on-site appointments within a 45km radius of Bremen. Consultations further away can be arranged either online or by phone, or in person upon request. We will then inform you of the travel costs in advance.
